If you are an adult with hearing loss, you might be interested in joining the OASIS Forum online discussion group for hearing impaired and deaf people.
As a rough guideline, the group is for people aged between 19 and 40 but they welcome anyone with something interesting to say on the subject of deafness.
Many of the members of this online group use sign language to some degree, from finger-spelling to conversational Auslan, but the dominant method of communication is spoken English.
OASIS is based in Melbourne, and the group sometimes puts on activities in the Melbourne area (if you are willing to travel to Melbourne to get to an activity, you will be welcomed!) - but the online forum is open to anyone, anywhere!
